ABOUT ME

I am a writer and illustrator in South Florida.

I’m Kate Teves

(pronounced “TAY-viss”)

I spent most of my childhood wandering around an 18th century farm in New York State with nothing but animals, my imagination, and the constant chatter of trees. It was a childhood of endless daydreaming and tinkering. I cannot believe I was so lucky.

The goal of my work is to give children opportunities to wander through their own daydreams. I believe the word “freedom” has been corrupted by lunatics, and with all the screaming back and forth, we’ve forgotten that the most important freedom of all—the freedom to explore and develop one’s own independent sense of self—is being taken away from children every day.

Throughout my career, I have worked with and for a wide, wonderful range of companies and non-profits.

Nowadays I live in Boca Raton, Florida with my very dear husband Christoph. Throughout the year, we spend a lot of time on Nantucket visiting our family.

I am working to build my own company, story by story. Thank you for joining my journey!

Fondly,

Kate
